Material Alchemy is a female-led exhibition showcasing sculptural, textile, and painterly works that explore transformation through material and touch. Anchored by Lizzie’s hybrid glass-and-stone sculptures, the show presents objects that balance fragility and resistance, softness and weight, intimacy and presence.

Lizzie Cardozo’s hand-blown glass vessels, fused with rock forms, emerge from a responsive dialogue with material resistance. Each gesture reflects rhythm, breath, and relational exchange, as glass and stone evoke memory, hybridity, and transformation. The exhibition also features textile and painted works by Eva Barkardottir, whose dyed and stitched fabrics function as object-like paintings, recording gesture, time, and touch. Together, the works create a visually striking, materially rich environment. Material Alchemy presents contemporary material practices as desirable, accessible, and conceptually grounded — works equally at home in private and public interiors.
